PART I : WORKING
In short, routes of medical-related jobs for a medical graduate while waiting for housmanship placement are:-
- Medical / Clinical Assistant
- Research Assistant
In such a short period of time, I reached home 9 p.m and slept 10 p.m,wake up on 5.30 a.m, never being so punctual since SPM. Every morning I reached UiTM campus, Selayang around 7 am, quickly go for breakfast at opposite mamak so that I can start work around 7.45 a.m and set up the device before specialist start their works (This study take place at Selayang and Sg.Buloh branch of UiTM Campus...And I choose Selayang, sort of regretful choice due to workload). Around 8 a.m, clinic start operating officially. My colleague, Aiman and I start recruiting patients by explaining to them about our study and try to get consented as much as we can, before they enter consultaiton room.
Occasionally we have to help our boss in 'qualitative interview' , where we have to (in turn) take note when our boss interviewing specialist regarding the study using voice recorder and after the interview is over, our job is transfer it and re-write it into document version. Frequently this is conducted during lunch time...
OH... MY STOMACH
(At least 2 hours for 1 interview)
Patients recruitment finished when clinic close around 5 p.m, but our job not done yet! Often we need to stay back to finish up our data entry with Excel spreadsheet and save up the data into recovery drive, not to mention we have to ensure all the documents are completed, including our signature on consent form and labels, which make us leave the clinic around 7 pm.
SUCH EXHAUSTED.
Eventually... reach home at 9 p.m, barely no entertainment, simply because energy determine our motivation drive.
MORAL OF STORY... NO.1 CONSIDERATION FACTOR IN WORKING - DISTANCE
